John Covert

Associate

John Covert is an associate in the firm’s Corporate group. He regularly represents clients in mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships. With a strong foundation in technology transactions and commercial sourcing, John also frequently assists with the drafting and negotiation of critical commercial agreements, licensing deals, and vendor relationships. Due to his prior in-house experience, he brings a highly collaborative, business-first perspective that focuses on finding practical solutions that align with his clients’ business objectives.
Born and raised in Austin, John attended the University of Texas for his undergraduate degree before earning his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center. In his free time, he is an avid supporter of UT athletics, enjoys spending time on the golf course, and loves taking walks with his dog.
